Hope is a powerful force. It keeps us moving forward even in the face of hardship. At NanaBarths Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFPD), we believe that while there is life, there is hope, and hope can change lives.
The Beginning of a Calling
It all started with small, simple acts of kindness. From a young age, I felt drawn to helping others, visiting orphanages, providing food and clothing, and listening to the stories of those who had lost everything. At the time, I didn’t see these moments as part of a greater purpose; I only knew that I wanted to help.
Over the years, I met more displaced persons, families forced to flee their homes due to conflict, economic hardship, natural disasters, or abandonment. Their resilience moved me deeply, but then I noticed that many struggled not just with material needs but with the loss of dignity and a sense of belonging. That was when I realized: small acts of kindness were not enough. A structured effort was needed—one that could make a lasting impact.
In 2019, this vision became a reality. NanaBarths Foundation for Displaced Persons was founded with a vision to create a world where every displaced person finds hope, dignity, and opportunity, and a mission to provide sustainable support through relief aid, education, skills empowerment, and advocacy.
I believe in a future where hope translates into action—from a plate of food to a path toward a better life.
